VOR DER REISE: BALKAN 02

Botschaft angerufen. "Thank you for choosing my country."
Gerngeschehen.

(English version below)

// Tyson is bored while we are building the bed.

BEFORE THE TRIP: THE BALKANS 02

Called the embassy. "Thank you for choosing my country."
You're welcome.

The Montenegrin embassy staff is helpful. And he is glad that I have chosen his country to travel to. I'm also looking forward to it. I approach the unknown slowly and at 100 km / h. A cozy roadtrip in the hopefully golden autumn.

Prior to that: Tyson has to go to an official veterinarian for a health certificate and I need to go to my annual dentist appointment. The result is that Tysi gets a very good score and an entry into his EU passport, I, on the other hand, am getting a sore throat.

At least as much time is lost by converting the Renault Kangoo into something of a camper van: a children's sofa bed on a screwed down chipboard it is! On several days, we saw, screw and hammer. Without the help of friends and family this would not have been possible in the short amount of time - so a huge thank you to all of you who helped! :)

The time to prepare is almost up and although everything seems to be packed, documents scanned and copied, all bureaucratic obstacles I could think of should be tackled, it feels somewhat unfinished. Or am I getting nervous?

Anxiety actually first appears on the day of our departure: Friday, 15.09.2017, just one day after Tyson's 5th birthday. It comes suddenly and only when I closed the last door to the car and it becomes clear that there is no further reason to delay the travel.

A couple of hours later, after some traffic jams around Munich and night falling around us, I find a place to sleep. After the first very comfortable and only slightly restless night in a parking lot next to a community cemetery, (yes, graveyard. I've chosen the most uncanny place of all right in the beginning) the road leads us to Austria, to the Gollinger waterfall for the morning walkies and then some hundreds of kilometres, tunnels and rain clouds later, we arrive at the campsite Leibnitz.

From here it will not take us long to enter Slovenia where the journey into the unknown can really begin.
